Answers to the questions we get most. If yours is not here, send us a report from inside the app and we will look at it.

Which TVs are supported?

Any smart TV on your Wi-Fi network: Samsung (Tizen), LG (webOS), Roku and Roku TVs (TCL, Hisense, onn and others), Sony BRAVIA and every Google TV, Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Sticks, Vizio SmartCast, Hisense VIDAA (beta), Philips, Vestel and Beko. Your phone and TV must be on the same Wi-Fi network.

My Roku ignores the buttons — volume might work but nothing else does.

Roku has a setting that blocks phone remotes. On the TV go to Settings → System → Advanced system settings → Control by mobile apps, and set it to “Enabled.” If there is a “Network access” option underneath, choose “Permissive.” Some Rokus allow volume while blocking everything else, which is why part of the remote can seem to work.

My Fire TV connects but only opens apps — the arrows do nothing.

That is Fire TV’s limited mode. For the full remote, enable ADB debugging on the device: Settings → My Fire TV → Developer options → ADB debugging, then reconnect in the app. If Developer options is hidden, open Settings → My Fire TV → About and click the device name seven times.

My Samsung never shows the “Allow” prompt.

The prompt appears on the TV screen and times out after about 30 seconds, so tap the TV again in the app and accept it promptly. If no prompt ever appears, the TV may have remembered an earlier “Deny”: on the TV go to Settings → General → External Device Manager → Device Connection Manager → Device List, remove this phone, then try again.

No TVs are found at all.

Nearly always a network mismatch. Check that the phone is on the same Wi-Fi as the TV — not cellular data, and not a guest or IoT network, which many routers isolate from each other. Make sure the TV is fully on rather than in standby. On iPhone, also check Settings → EveryMote → Local Network is enabled. Then tap Rescan.

My TV is old and has no Wi-Fi. Can the app control it?

No — and neither can any other phone app. Older infrared-only TVs need an IR blaster to send signals, and modern phones do not have one. EveryMote works with smart TVs that connect to your Wi-Fi network.

The app found my TV but it will not connect.

Try the brand-specific steps above first. Beyond that: turn the TV fully on rather than leaving it in standby, and if your network is unusual you can add the TV by IP address from the pairing screen — the TV’s own Settings → Network → About screen shows its address.

How do I control more than one TV?

Every TV you connect to is saved. Tap the TV name at the top of the remote to switch between them, and rename them (“Living Room”, “Bedroom”) so they are easy to tell apart.

Does the app track what I watch?

No. A remote cannot see your TV screen. The app stores, on your phone only, the apps you open and searches you run inside it — you can clear that or switch it off in Settings. The free version does show ads, which use advertising identifiers; you can decline tracking when the app asks, and Premium removes ads entirely.

What does Premium include?

Every remote feature is free. Premium removes the ads, and keeps the Home Screen widget after its free first month. It is $1.99 a month or $9.99 a year, billed through the App Store or Google Play, and you can cancel any time in your account settings.

How do I restore a purchase?

Open the upgrade screen in the app and tap “Restore Purchases,” signed in with the same Apple ID or Google account used for the original purchase.

I have a feature request or a TV that will not work.

Use “Report a problem” in the app’s Settings — it attaches the diagnostics we need to actually fix it. You can also email admin@nextappfactory.com with the subject “EveryMote”.

Still stuck?

The fastest route is Settings → Report a problem in the app — it attaches your TV brand, model and the exact error, so we can usually tell what went wrong without a back-and-forth.
